Reddit Screentime Timer

Reddit Screentime Timer

It is easy to tell yourself "just five more minutes" on Reddit and then realize an hour has gone by. This Drop in adds a small screentime timer directly into Reddit's top navigation bar that counts how long you have been scrolling in the current session.

Sometimes just being aware of how much time is passing is enough to make you close the tab. The timer stays visible without being intrusive, so you always know where you stand.

It starts counting when you open Reddit, persists across page navigations, and turns red with a subtle pulse after 30 minutes to nudge you. If you leave Reddit for more than five minutes the timer resets automatically, so each session starts fresh. The timer sits in the header bar and matches Reddit's own design so it feels like a native feature.

Good to Know

  • The timer continues counting across page navigations within Reddit
  • If you leave Reddit for more than 5 minutes, the timer resets to zero for a fresh session
  • After 30 minutes the timer turns red, and after 60 minutes the red gets more intense
  • Doesn't require API credits

Best Use Cases

  • Staying aware of how much time you spend browsing Reddit
  • Setting a mental limit and using the color change as your cue to stop
  • Breaking the doomscroll habit by making time visible
  • Tracking your daily Reddit usage across multiple sessions
