No Setup Required

The OpenAI integration is built into Drop in. Unlike other integrations, you do not need to provide an API key or configure any credentials.

Drop in handles all OpenAI API access on your behalf using its own infrastructure. Every call consumes one integration credit from your account balance.

Using Your Own API Key

Bringing your own OpenAI API key is not currently supported. All requests are routed through Drop in's managed backend.

This option is coming soon to Drop in.

Available Actions

Send Prompt

Send a text prompt to OpenAI and receive an AI-generated response. Supports multimodal inputs including images and audio alongside your text prompt.

Common Issues

Empty or Unexpected Responses

If you receive an empty or unexpected response:

Make sure your prompt is clear and specific
Try rephrasing the question or breaking it into smaller parts
Check that any image or audio URLs you provided are publicly accessible

Integration Credit Errors

If you see a "Not enough integration credits" error:

Each OpenAI call consumes one integration credit
Check your remaining credit balance in the Drop in dashboard
Top up your credits to continue using the integration

Request Timeout

If your request takes too long or fails:

Very long or complex prompts may take more time to process
Try simplifying your prompt
If the issue persists, try again after a few moments
